This is Our Story
We’re in It for the Long Haul
Welcome to A to Z Moving. Ours is a story of perseverance, from beginning to end and beyond. Founded in 1998, A to Z Moving is part of the living legacy of Greg Stanke, college linebacker, bodybuilder, husband, father, friend, and man of God.
Greg credited his start in the piano-moving business to his predecessor, Doug Lindemann, of Lindemann Piano, where Greg worked during his college years. Following the death of Doug, and the ultimate closing of Lindemann Piano, Greg’s friendship with Doug’s son, Chad Lindemann, endured.
Fresh out of college and newly married to his soulmate, Shannan, Greg combined his best attributes—strength, skill, honesty, integrity, and an unmatched work ethic─ to start this business. Greg and Shannan christened their company “A to Z Moving” because it identified what the company was willing to move, which was pretty much “everything from A to Z”. But more importantly, the moniker mirrored Revelation 22:13, scripture which represented their faith and the foundation on which they built their lives.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:13
Greg’s innate ability to plan, prep, and execute moves of every scale was notable. As the business grew, he personally trained employees in his methods. A to Z Moving quickly became a fixture in the Fargo-Moorhead community and the area’s “go to” for challenging moves and the transfer of specialty items, like pianos and gun safes.
Since Greg’s untimely death in 2018, Shannan continues to operate A to Z Moving. While Shannan manages the business framework, the crews, managed by Branden McKay, provide the moving services. Greg’s love for the Fargo-Moorhead community, his passion for people, and his one-of-a-kind business model, complete with his moving techniques, endure at A to Z Moving.
From beginning to end, we do what we do in honor of Greg. Read more on Greg’s story here.
